  Freight—Efficiency

The new BGS cargo terminal, which began operations on January 6, 2011, is currently one of China’s most advanced, highly automated, and fully functional modern integrated cargo terminals. It is designed to handle an annual cargo and mail throughput of up to 400,000 tons. Combined with the South Warehouse, which went into operation in September 1999, BGS’s current cargo and mail processing capacity has exceeded 560,000 tons per year. Currently, BGS’s cargo warehouse provides agency services for 50 airlines, both domestic and international. Its main functions include receiving, sorting, and preparing outbound cargo for shipment, as well as handling related documentation; disassembling and reassembling inbound and outbound cargo and extracting items from automated systems; handling transshipment cargo and mail; providing inquiry services for inbound and outbound cargo and mail; processing non-standard cargo; offering express delivery services; and performing routine operations for both international and domestic flights.
