BGS is actively responding to the increased flight frequency during summer and autumn.
As the climate warms and daylight hours begin to shift, Capital International Airport will implement a new summer-autumn flight schedule starting March 25. Compared with the winter-spring schedule, significant changes have been made to the flight schedules handled by BGS agents. Many airline customers have adjusted their arrival and departure times accordingly and, based on passenger traffic trends on Beijing routes, have increased the frequency of flights on these routes. After the implementation of the new summer-autumn flight schedule, among the foreign airlines handled by BGS, Cathay Pacific and Malaysia Airlines have seen the most notable changes: each will add one additional flight per day to serve Beijing routes. Air France will increase its weekly flights to Beijing by three, and the flight departing at 1:40 p.m. will be rescheduled to depart at midnight 55 minutes. Aeroflot has added two passenger flights, bringing the total number of weekly flights to Beijing to 16. Delta Air Lines, while maintaining its existing routes, will operate 16 flights per week—adding one extra flight compared to the winter-spring schedule. Russian Airlines has shifted its Monday flight to Wednesday and Friday, adding an extra flight. British Airways will resume the Saturday flights that were temporarily canceled during the winter-spring period, ensuring daily round-trip service between Beijing and London throughout the summer and autumn seasons. Meanwhile, airlines including Angola Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Ukraine International Airlines, Alitalia, Jetstar Australia, Vladivostok Air, and All Nippon Airways have made certain adjustments to their Beijing route flight schedules—either shortening layover times or adjusting arrival and departure times. Aeroflot’s all-cargo flights have also had their departure times moved forward to some extent. Many airlines have indicated that, under the current flight schedule, they will temporarily increase flight frequencies if passenger demand surges. To ensure smooth and orderly operations for the new flight season and to continue providing high-quality, efficient services to customers and passengers, BGS has proactively adjusted its personnel and equipment. This ensures that while continuing to handle China Eastern Airlines’ business, the company can also carry out the seasonal flight transition in a scientific and rational manner. The company’s Central Operations Control Center conducts meticulous checks on flight forecasts before and after the seasonal change, promptly communicates with airlines to confirm any temporary schedule changes, and after midnight each day, verifies the information displayed on flight boards. If any inconsistencies are detected, the center immediately confirms them with TAMCC (Capital International Airport Co., Ltd. Operations Control Center) to ensure the accuracy of all information. The Passenger Services Department has reorganized operational staff and work teams according to the new flight schedule, guaranteeing appropriate staffing levels at check-in counters. In the two-class lounges, the company has adjusted meals and beverages according to seasonal characteristics, adding seasonal fruits and soups for passengers to enjoy. The Apron, Maintenance, and Cargo departments have carried out scheduled safety inspections and timely seasonal maintenance on support equipment as planned, ensuring safe and orderly flight operations.
