Except for the ice armor, the flight is even higher. BGS successfully completed its first de-icing support operation after the onset of winter.

On December 2, 2011, Capital International Airport experienced its first snowfall of the winter this year. As a key de-icing support unit at the airport, BGS quickly assembled its de-icing personnel and vehicles on that day. Working at designated de-icing positions, they completed de-icing tasks for a total of 98 flights, ensuring the smooth operation of flights at Capital International Airport. With the launch of the Capital International Airport’s designated de-icing support plan, BGS de-icing personnel had finished assembling by 7:00 a.m. At 7:15 a.m., the de-icing staff split into two teams and headed to their respective de-icing positions. By 7:20 a.m., all 19 de-icing vehicles, 8 liquid-refilling trucks, and nearly 200 staff members had arrived at their designated locations and were fully prepared for de-icing operations. At 7:30 a.m., the designated de-icing support officially began, and de-icing work started simultaneously at each position. BGS de-icing operators entered suspended baskets; once the aircraft taxied into its parking spot, the de-icing personnel immediately raised the baskets to the appropriate height. Ground supervisors carefully guided the de-icing vehicles to their standby positions and, upon receiving de-icing requests, promptly commenced de-icing operations. Depending on the aircraft type and specific de-icing needs, BGS had designed different support plans—using single-, double-, triple-, or quad-car configurations—and adopted various de-icing vehicle routes accordingly. From guiding aircraft into position, carrying out de-icing procedures, reporting information, facilitating aircraft departures, refilling de-icing vehicles, handing over on-site tasks, to handling special situations—all operations were conducted according to scientifically sound and strictly enforced procedures. Thanks to the concerted efforts of all de-icing support personnel, from the start of the designated de-icing procedure at 7:30 a.m. until the de-icing program was lifted at 2:00 p.m., BGS provided safe and efficient support for de-icing flights at Apron 7 and W2, making a significant contribution to the orderly operation of flights at Capital International Airport.
