Recently, BGS was awarded the Best Station Award—Highly Commended by GHI (Global Hospitality Industry Association) in recognition of its outstanding contributions to the major support mission during the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

This honor from the international ground handling industry not only recognizes BGS’s professional and efficient support capabilities but also serves as the finest embodiment of the “Guomen Ground Handling” brand. The citation for the award stated that Beijing is the first “Dual-Olympic City” to have hosted both Summer and Winter Olympic Games, and as a key ground-handling provider at Beijing Capital Airport, BGS has been actively involved in supporting both Olympic events. In 2022, the COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges to the Beijing Winter Olympics. During this period, BGS rose to the occasion, overcoming immense pressure from epidemic prevention measures and the cumulative difficulties of multiple concurrent tasks. All departments worked together efficiently and seamlessly, successfully completing their assigned support duties and delivering an outstanding performance in ensuring the smooth operation of the Winter Olympics. At the same time, every BGS employee involved in the support efforts demonstrated unity and solidarity, working side by side. Thanks to the “closed-loop” management system, many employees put aside opportunities to reunite with their families and devoted themselves wholeheartedly to the mission, showcasing a highly responsible attitude and the strong team cohesion characteristic of “Guomen Ground Handling.” Their dedication and commitment made a vital contribution to the successful hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics, fully demonstrating the strength and spirit of civil aviation.

It is understood that GHI, whose full name is Ground Handling International, was established in 1995. It brings together major ground handling companies, airlines, airports, and other stakeholders from around the globe to discuss and study issues facing the ground handling industry, such as aircraft ground operations and apron handling. GHI regularly provides the latest information to ground handling companies and professionals, helping them make informed business decisions. Last year, Li Jiameng, an employee of BGS’s Passenger Services Department, was also awarded the “Unsung Hero Award” by GHI.

Next, BGS will continue to work tirelessly and take proactive measures to deliver more professional ground services and comprehensively open up a new chapter in the company’s development.
