To further test the practicality and operability of the emergency response plan, BGS recently organized a large-scale flight delay emergency exercise. The exercise was set against the backdrop of sudden, severe weather conditions typical of certain seasons. It simulated several scenarios, including conflicts in departure times for Hainan Airlines international flights, tight turnaround times caused by late arrivals of Turkmenistan Airlines flights, the inability of the baggage control center to promptly provide Cathay Pacific baggage stowage data due to widespread flight delays, and the need to provide loading operations for Capital Airlines flights that had been diverted to Daxing Airport. The exercise focused on practicing emergency handling procedures for diverted flights, internal coordination among different positions, and timely reporting of unexpected incidents to relevant authorities. After the exercise, a comprehensive review and summary of the entire process were conducted. This exercise effectively achieved its intended objectives: honing command skills, enhancing collaborative efforts, refining procedural protocols, ensuring thorough implementation, improving responsiveness, and strengthening adaptability. All participating personnel, based on their respective roles, thoroughly tested the interlinked mechanisms among various positions, service support systems, information dissemination channels, and flight diversion procedures. As a result, their capacity to handle large-scale flight delays has been further enhanced, better preparing them for smooth operations under extreme weather conditions in the future. Moving forward, BGS will continue to intensify emergency drills, conduct thorough summaries and evaluations based on the outcomes of this exercise, promptly refine various contingency plans, reinforce emergency preparedness measures, and continuously improve the efficiency of emergency response operations.
