To help pilot institutions of the 1+X certification program build a “dual-qualified” teaching staff and meet the instructional and assessment needs of these institutions, BGS recently held a faculty training workshop on the 1+X certification for ground support services at civil airports. Teachers from secondary and higher vocational colleges in provinces including Shanghai, Beijing, and Shandong participated in this training.
It is reported that this is the third training session held since the certification was successfully obtained. The training is led by senior experts and instructors from the Management Institute of Capital Airport Group Co., Ltd., as well as from various business units of BGS. The training adopts a blended approach, combining theoretical instruction with hands-on practice at the site. The curriculum focuses primarily on three key areas: passenger services, baggage services, and cargo and mail services. The content is systematically presented according to the competency standards for both beginner and intermediate-level certification qualifications. Through this training, participants not only gained a solid grasp of the knowledge required for ground handling operations at civil airports but also had the opportunity to observe firsthand the various operational modules involved in ground support services at civil airports.
This training featured rich content and diverse formats, earning unanimous praise from the participants and laying a solid foundation for achieving seamless integration between academic credentials and vocational qualifications. In the future, BGS will continue to make timely adjustments and optimizations to the training design based on the specific needs of the pilot institutions, thereby maximizing the effectiveness of 1+X certificate teacher training and providing robust support for the implementation of teaching at these pilot institutions.
