Every November is designated as National Fire Safety Promotion Month. To further enhance employees’ fire safety awareness and emergency evacuation capabilities, BGS has extensively organized fire safety education and awareness activities throughout the promotion month, centered around the theme of “Prevention First, Life Above All.”
Strengthen fire safety and enhance fire safety awareness.
BGS focuses on the theme of fire safety activities and organizes comprehensive fire safety education for all employees, featuring engaging, diverse, and hybrid online-and-offline formats to create a strong public awareness campaign promoting “fire safety for everyone.” Through various platforms such as bulletin boards and online fire safety videos, we disseminate fire safety knowledge, ensuring that fire safety awareness reaches the grassroots level, work teams, and individual posts. We also organized participation in a fire safety knowledge competition jointly hosted by the Capital Airport Fire Prevention Committee, Cargo Agency, and Hongyuan Assembly Company, where our team secured second place. Furthermore, we invited the Cargo and Public Area Police Station of the Capital Airport Public Security Bureau to conduct training on the “Administrative Measures for Fire Safety in Leased Factories and Warehouses,” explaining relevant regulatory provisions and clarifying specific operational requirements. This training enabled participants to fully understand and master their fire safety responsibilities, thereby enhancing their overall fire safety awareness.
Implement fire safety responsibilities and promote fire safety knowledge.
The Maintenance Department and Apron Management Department of BGS conducted a special winter fire safety inspection, checking the hygiene and electrical conditions of various office spaces. A total of 81 rooms were inspected. Meanwhile, an emergency response drill was carried out to simulate a vehicle emitting smoke inside the warehouse, ensuring that employees have mastered basic skills such as fire suppression, information reporting, and requesting assistance. The Central Operations Control Center used DingTalk to distribute relevant promotional videos and organized employees to watch and learn from them. The Passenger Services Department invited instructors from the Capital Airport Fire Brigade to provide employees with fire safety training. The instructors began by discussing the current fire safety situation, the hazards posed by fires, and real-life case studies. Using a combination of visual aids and actual incidents, they highlighted the dangers of fires through specific examples and provided guidance on how to respond promptly in the event of a fire, how to evacuate safely, and important precautions to take. In addition, detailed explanations were given on three key areas: the use of fire extinguishers within the terminal building, fire escape techniques, and passenger evacuation procedures in the terminal. Employees at the scene also practiced using fire extinguishers through hands-on spraying exercises.
Prevent fires before they “burn”—conduct emergency evacuation and escape drills.
The Cargo Department and Security Department of BGS, in collaboration with relevant units, conducted a drill in which members of the volunteer fire brigade and operational staff jointly formed teams to participate in the live exercise. The drill simulated a real fire scenario, enabling personnel to become familiar with the cargo terminal’s safety exits and evacuation routes and to understand the on-site response procedures. Officers from the Cargo and Public Area Police Stations of the Capital Airport Public Security Bureau monitored the drill via surveillance cameras from the fire control room and, following its conclusion, conducted a debriefing and provided feedback on the exercise. This drill not only tested the operational capabilities of the outsourced fire service provider but also validated the outcomes of the numerous training sessions held since the establishment of the volunteer fire brigade. It helped hone the on-site response skills of both volunteer firefighters and cargo department operational staff, ensuring that everyone actively participates in and takes responsibility for fire safety management.
Next, BGS will continue to strengthen fire safety measures, further enhance employees’ fire safety awareness, firefighting skills, and self-rescue capabilities, and ensure that we firmly uphold the safety bottom line, creating a safe and harmonious travel and working environment for passengers, customers, and employees.
