To implement the Group’s deployment requirements for safe winter operations and ensure effective support for winter operations at the capital airport, as well as to enhance the aircraft de-icing and anti-icing capabilities and guarantee the smooth execution of winter de-icing and anti-icing procedures at the airport, starting from early September, BGS has drawn on past experiences, proactively prepared for the season, and consistently adopted a strategy that combines strengthening top-level design with a pragmatic, step-by-step approach. In the course of repeated refinement and testing, BGS innovatively proposed the “Three-Three Fixed De-icing Method.”
The so-called “Three-Three Fixed Deicing Method,” as its name suggests, is based on two “fixed” principles: the first is “Fixed Location Three,” and the second is “Fixed Communication Three.” At its core, this method takes a comprehensive approach to enhancing deicing support efficiency by addressing both on-site communication and coordinated operations across various positions.
The “Three Fixed” approach focuses on the fixed allocation of personnel, vehicles, and locations. First, the “person-to-person” fixation refers to assigning specific personnel to each de-icing team. This ensures that every team member clearly understands their own responsibilities and knows who their partner is, continuously enhancing teamwork and coordination. Second, the “person-to-vehicle” fixation means pairing each de-icing team with a specific de-icing vehicle. This allows the de-icing teams to make better use of vehicle resources. Finally, the “vehicle-to-location” fixation involves linking each de-icing vehicle to a designated de-icing position. This guarantees that vehicles can reach their assigned locations as quickly and accurately as possible, thereby doubling the speed of de-icing operations and gaining precious time for aircraft de-icing.
The “Three Fixed Communications” approach focuses primarily on communication and coordination, encompassing the following key aspects: fixed communication frequencies for de-icing at designated points and for de-icing at aircraft positions; fixed communication frequencies for the command center and internal communications among on-site operational teams; and fixed communication frequencies for emergency response vehicles. This approach effectively avoids information miscommunication and frequency congestion during peak periods that could result from chaotic communications, ensuring more accurate and efficient information transmission, significantly boosting communication speed, and helping to achieve ultra-fast de-icing operations.
Truth arises from practice and must also return to practice. The “3-3 Fixed Deicing Method” was distilled from deicing drills and has been rigorously tested and validated in those same drills. Grounded in a stringent set of procedures, this method effectively ensures seamless coordination and smooth operation among personnel, communication equipment, and vehicles, thereby significantly enhancing deicing efficiency. Currently, the “3-3 Fixed Deicing Method” has been incorporated into routine operational drills, documented in deicing memos, and institutionalized as part of the company’s deicing procedures. In the future, it will undoubtedly play a pivotal role in aircraft de-icing operations.
Taking unceasing effort as our essence and embracing daily renewal as our path, BGS has pioneered the “3-3 Fixed Deicing Method,” which will significantly demonstrate its value and effectiveness throughout the aircraft deicing and snow removal operations. Moving forward, BGS will take snow as our guiding principle, continuously strengthening the political commitment and sense of responsibility of all staff members. We will strive to maintain unwavering resolve in our thinking and relentless dedication in our actions, closely aligning with the unique characteristics of winter snow conditions to ensure the safe and smooth operation of the capital airport.
