On November 30, BGS organized an expanded study session of the Party Committee’s theoretical study group, combined with a special training session on fire safety. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Hongkong, Deputy Secretary of the company’s Party Committee and General Manager, who also delivered a concluding speech. Shi Yuhong, a member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager, delivered the opening remarks. Li Hongwei, Deputy Head of the Group Corporation’s working team stationed at BGS, Wang Min, a member of the working team, and Zhang Yichen, Deputy Secretary of the BGS Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, attended the session.
This session features a special lecture by Zhao Mingchao, Business Manager for Fire Prevention at the Fire Rescue Management Center of Capital Airport Co., Ltd. The course focuses on the fire investigation report of Changfeng Hospital, providing a detailed analysis of the causes of the fire and the subsequent response measures. Drawing on numerous real-life fire incidents, the course offers an in-depth examination of key topics including the primary responsibilities of organizations in fire safety, relevant laws and regulations, and lessons learned from fire accidents.
After the training concluded, Zhang Hongkong delivered a concluding speech. She pointed out that November is National Fire Safety Month, and November 9th is National Fire Day. This year’s theme is “Prevention First, Life Above All.” It is both timely and essential to conduct this specialized fire safety training at this particular juncture. Following the serious fire accident on November 16 at Yongju Coal Industry Co., Ltd. in Lüliang, Shanxi Province, BGS promptly carried out thorough study in accordance with the guiding principles set forth by General Secretary Xi Jinping, and deployed learning tasks and self-inspection efforts throughout the entire company. At the same time, in light of the incident at Shanghai Airport—where new-energy vehicles spontaneously combusted within the flight zone—the company instructed all departments to focus squarely on their core responsibilities and duties, comprehensively standardize and strengthen fire safety management, deeply learn from the lessons of the accident, and firmly advance the identification and rectification of major hazards and fire safety risks, resolutely preventing any fire-related incidents from occurring.
Based on the company’s current work situation, Zhang Hongkong put forward several specific requirements: First, we must firmly grasp the profound meaning of “There are no small matters at the Capital Airport” and continuously enhance our sense of safety responsibility. Second, we must resolutely fulfill our fire safety responsibilities and avoid being “outsiders” or “bystanders.” Third, we must further strengthen the identification and remediation of fire hazards, continually reinforcing the company’s safety defenses. Fourth, we must persistently promote and implement comprehensive improvements in employees’ safety attitudes and continue to intensify employee education.
In her opening remarks, Shi Yuhong pointed out that BGS has a long business chain and a wide variety of business formats, and fire safety has always been a top priority for the company, as well as a key focus for ensuring safe winter operations. Through this specialized training, we will further strengthen safety responsibilities at all levels within the company, enhance our fire safety management capabilities, continuously reinforce our safety production defenses, and ensure that the safety situation remains stable and controllable during the period leading up to and following the end of the year.
After the special-topic training concluded, BGS organized a hands-on practical exercise on dry powder fire extinguishers for all participants. Company fire safety personnel provided on-site instruction on key topics including basic fire knowledge, the proper use of common firefighting equipment, safe evacuation and escape procedures, emergency response measures, and daily fire safety management. This enhanced the participants’ theoretical understanding of fire safety and improved their proficiency in practical on-site operations.
This special study session represents a collaborative exchange between BGS and the joint-stock company. Moving forward, both sides will, based on their actual work needs, establish more platforms for mutual learning and exchange, thereby fostering greater mutual understanding and driving common progress, and contributing to the high-quality development of the Capital Airport. Mid-level managers from BGS, as well as those responsible for safety-related work in various operational, support, and functional departments, attended the session.
