Recently, the Beijing area has experienced windy weather. To ensure smooth and reliable flight operations under these special weather conditions, BGS has made advance preparations and proactively implemented response measures, guaranteeing that flight support services proceed smoothly and without a hitch.
The Overall Operations Control Center issues activation instructions for the strong-wind weather contingency plan based on the warning level, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient communication of information to all relevant positions. The Apron Management Department and the Maintenance Department, in accordance with the special weather contingency plan, rigorously implement all on-site procedures, intensify inspections and patrols of equipment within their jurisdictions, and emphasize through pre-shift meetings the specific details that personnel must pay attention to during operations, thereby further solidifying operational procedures and enhancing service quality. At the same time, they clearly specify the parking requirements for various types of equipment under strong-wind conditions. The Cargo Handling Department is responsible for carrying out safety management during strong-wind weather, including checking the closure status of vehicles and doors/windows, as well as the covering condition of cargo, to eliminate any potential safety hazards associated with both the vehicles themselves and the cargo. When transporting empty containers or lightly loaded containers into or out of the airport, it is required to secure them with straps. Outbound cargo within the aircraft parking safety zone must be linked together; for cargo that cannot be linked, wheel chocks should be placed to prevent equipment from affecting aircraft operations. Meanwhile, the department will step up its monitoring of outbound flight information, improve operational efficiency, and minimize the duration of cargo, personnel, and vehicle stays on the apron. The Passenger Services Department will optimize and adjust staffing arrangements, conduct comprehensive training sessions on safety awareness, service consciousness, and risk prevention for special weather conditions, provide passengers with detailed travel advisories, and offer robust support to ensure smooth travel for all passengers.
BGS will continue to enhance its support capabilities and, with professional services, do its utmost to ensure smooth flight operations under special weather conditions.
