BGS is holding a training workshop to enhance trainers’ capabilities.

To strengthen the standardization and regularization of the company’s training course development and comprehensively enhance trainers’ professional theoretical knowledge and practical skills in course design, BGS recently held a training workshop aimed at improving trainers’ capabilities. A total of 39 participants from 17 departments and offices across the company took part in the training.

During the planning phase of this training, the Training Department carefully analyzed, studied, and evaluated the necessity of this training, clearly defining key elements such as the training objectives and the specific issues that need to be addressed through the training. In close collaboration with the instructors and based on actual training needs, the department engaged in thorough communication and exchange. The goal was to tackle the challenges and pain points related to the design and planning of instructional content and the development of syllabus outlines for the company’s 1+X training program courses, existing curriculum outlines, and Competency-Based Training for Hazardous Materials (CBTA) courses.

This training session is led by Ms. Meng Xiaoya from the School of Management. Based on the training needs and in alignment with ICAO’s instructional design standards and requirements, Ms. Meng has tailored a highly targeted training course for BGS, one that emphasizes standardization and normalization. The course design fully takes into account the characteristics of adult learners—such as their preference for grid-based, structured, and logically organized learning content—and strictly adheres to the course design’s guiding principles, conceptual framework, logical relationships among modules, and teaching methodologies and techniques—all centered around the actual needs of participants and practical teaching applications, thereby ensuring the high quality of the training course.

Before the training began, the six participating groups each prepared relatively mature courses drawn from the company’s existing training programs. These included topics such as BGS corporate culture, effective training management, theoretical knowledge of shuttle bus operations, and three work tasks from the 1+X project curriculum. Based on the characteristics of each course, Teacher Meng provided detailed instruction on the design of existing courses and the preparation of teaching plans. She also offered hands-on feedback and made specific corrections to the course outlines and teaching plans that each group had completed. The participants demonstrated a strong sense of proactive learning and high enthusiasm for practical exercises, which further stimulated their creative thinking. As a result, the training course achieved its intended objectives.

At the conclusion of the two-day training course, positive feedback from the participants confirmed the importance of conducting training while addressing specific work tasks and real-world teaching challenges. By adopting a learning-by-doing, reflecting-as-you-go, and practicing-in-action approach, we strengthened interaction and discussion between participants and instructors, ensuring that participants not only learned with deep thought but also gained meaningful insights and practical benefits. This laid a solid foundation for further enhancing the overall quality and effectiveness of the company’s training programs in the future.
