As the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays approach, BGS—a key ground support unit at the Capital Airport—bears the important mission of ensuring aviation transportation safety and guaranteeing efficient and smooth passenger and cargo operations. To ensure smooth operations and high-quality service during the “double holiday” period and to provide a safe, efficient, and enjoyable travel experience for the Capital Airport’s passengers, BGS is taking proactive measures across multiple fronts—including service, safety, and operations—to make early preparations and take the initiative, fully committing itself to the preparations for the “double holiday.”

Empathize and enjoy a smooth, worry-free journey.

During the holiday period, passenger traffic in the terminal has surged significantly. The efficiency of check-in procedures and the convenience and smoothness of boarding are not only among the top concerns for travelers but also key priorities for BGS’s “double-holiday” support efforts.

To ensure efficient and convenient travel for the vast number of passengers at the capital airport, BGS has actively organized staff from all positions to conduct advance training sessions and emergency drills, ensuring that every employee is fully prepared and able to deliver passenger service with the highest standards. For special passenger groups—such as the elderly, children, the sick, the disabled, and pregnant women—BGS has set up dedicated “Care Counters” to prioritize check-in procedures for these passengers. Considering the anticipated increase in passenger traffic during the holiday period, BGS has added additional guidance stations next to the check-in counters, proactively diverting passengers based on their specific needs and arranging queue routes in a rational manner, thereby maintaining consistently high efficiency in the check-in process. At the same time, BGS strictly enforces the “First-Contact Responsibility System,” encouraging guidance staff to actively observe and identify passengers who may require assistance, and promptly provide them with relevant advice and guidance. For flights operating from remote stands, BGS adjusts the frequency of shuttle bus announcements according to on-site conditions, providing timely reminders to passengers and ensuring their travel experience is both pleasant and smooth.

Arm your mind and fortify the safety defense line.

To ensure that every employee fully understands and internalizes their sense of responsibility, BGS has actively carried out pre-holiday publicity, mobilization, and cautionary education through a combination of online and offline approaches, helping all employees keep the “string” of safe service taut and never let their guard down. Meanwhile, in anticipation of special weather conditions such as strong winds and thunderstorms that may occur during the holiday period, BGS has reorganized and further optimized its emergency response plans in advance. Additionally, BGS has strengthened coordination with airlines and all relevant support units to stay abreast of the latest flight information in real time, make timely arrangements for personnel and vehicles, and ensure that any potential special situations can be addressed promptly and effectively.

To ensure the safety of apron transportation during the holiday period, BGS recently conducted comprehensive inspections, maintenance, and servicing of various specialized vehicles. Specifically, we inspected and maintained the handrails of passenger boarding stairs and side guard plates, and systematically checked and adjusted features such as the anti-pinch function of shuttle bus doors and the air-conditioning system, ensuring that all vehicle performance is at its optimal level and providing passengers with a safe and comfortable travel experience. Meanwhile, to further enhance the efficiency of emergency evacuation procedures and guarantee the smooth and normal operation of flights, BGS organized a three-day training session on emergency evacuation procedures for eight types of aircraft docking equipment. This training has further improved employees’ emergency response capabilities and their ability to handle unexpected situations, thereby ensuring safe and orderly apron transportation operations.

Optimize processes for efficient cargo and mail handling.

This year’s “Double Festival” period has not only seen a significant increase in passenger volume but has also marked the peak in cargo transportation ahead of the holidays. The volume of fresh and live food products, such as hairy crabs and lobsters, has shown a clear upward trend. To ensure comprehensive transport support, BGS has adopted the principles of practicality and efficiency, implementing measures such as optimized personnel scheduling and vehicle allocation to significantly enhance resource utilization within the cargo warehouses. This ensures that goods have ample time for loading and preparation before departure, enabling faster cargo pickup, smoother transit, and more efficient overall logistics operations.

Meanwhile, BGS conducts regular follow-up visits with customers to promptly understand their actual needs regarding service guarantees. Based on passenger feedback, BGS identifies and addresses service gaps and weak links, continuously refining and enhancing its personalized service offerings. In terms of on-site operations, BGS assigns dedicated personnel to conduct a preliminary inspection and screening of packaging before goods are stored, while also managing and streamlining front-end operations to accelerate the clearance and storage process. Furthermore, BGS has standardized the stacking procedures for loose cargo placed in containers, thereby fully optimizing the three-dimensional storage space within the warehouse. For goods undergoing secondary re-inspection, BGS deploys experienced staff who meticulously and securely assemble items according to strict airline assembly standards, minimizing the risk of repeated handling.

During this “double holiday,” BGS will continue to refine its service quality with meticulous craftsmanship, and uphold safety standards through responsibility and unwavering commitment, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable travel experience for the vast number of passengers at the capital airport.
